Live in the best climate in Europe
Two years before we wrote in our blog that Torrox is hot and a magnet for many international buyers. What has happened since then? It is two years later now and Torrox is stronger than ever. Of course thanks to all the hard work of all local entrepreneurs and the local government. But also because more and more people know that Torrox has the best climate in Europe! Organizations investigated this but much more important: this is also my personal experience.
Does it get very hot in Torrox in summertime?
Unlike other sites along the Costa del Sol, it definitely does not get extremely hot in Torrox. To be more specific: summer temperatures are very moderate in Torrox or better saying very pleasant. The notorious very hot northern winds in summer, coming directly from the meseta, do not reach Torrox. The climate for example in nearby and popular mountain village of Cómpeta is very different. Of course you are right if you say that the climate anywhere along the Costa del Sol is much better than in your home country. But would you prefer in summer? Enjoy Torrox temperatures of around 28 degrees Celsius or sweating at more than 40 degrees Celsius in other sites? And what about enjoying a sangría along the Torrox-Costa sea promenade in winter?
Winter temperatures along the whole Costa del Sol are of course very pleasant compared to those in Northern Europe. Afternoons with 20 degrees Celsius from December till March are rather normal here. However, the evenings can be rather cold.

We can sum a couple of reasons why people want to live in Torrox and its direct surroundings. Most noteworthy of course is the climate. Furthermore people appreciate the relaxed way of life, especially in the area of the typical Andalusian white washed village of Torrox Pueblo with its main square, tapas bars and restaurants. And in conclusion house prices are rather low in Torrox Pueblo. House prices are in a serious increase in Spain but not yet in Torrox!

What prices can I expect?
In Torrox like in every mountain village in Andalusia you will find traditional Andalusian houses. The advantage of Torrox is that it is located adjacent to the coast. Local houses comply with the local building standards. In order to give you an example: in Andalusia one of the objectives of a house is keeping the warmth out. In addition bedrooms many times are rather small. The reason for this is to keep the warmth inside while sleeping during colder winter nights. Prices for typical houses for sale in Torrox Pueblo Spain are still below 100,000 Euros.
